Student iNdaba
Students form a council or iNdaba playing a direct advisory role in decision-making, a process common to all IES schools, and the school code of conduct, the rights and responsibilities of students and teachers, are the result of a democratic process. The Student iNdaba leads the formal assembly and meets regularly with school management every Wednesday of Term.
As the duties of the current Council representatives wind down for their last term before the handover to the newly elected representatives in the beginning of term 3, we can reflect on our successes and learn from our mistakes.
Here has been a strong feeling that the council can do even more to effect real changes to benefit the school. Our recent success in adding the option of long pants to the girls uniform was one such effort welcomed by the students.
Our thanks go out to the representatives mentioned below and particularly Lifa Mongwe the Head of School for Chairing the Council.
